IRRIWORKS Srl, driven by the growing awareness of the optimization of irrigation resources and the need for more advanced technological tools for agriculture, was born in April 2006 from an idea of a group of young and dynamic researchers and experienced professionals working in the field of university research and liberal professions.
The idea behind IrriPro finds its foundation behind The theoretical study conducted in the field of university research (decade 1995 - 2005) which allowed the creation of an effective and extremely versatile means of calculation for the design of any modern irrigation system . The versatility of the algorithm has made it possible to implement the software that allows rigorous design of the systems, reducing the computational burden that this design entails. The know-how thus acquired starting from the theoretical-experimental investigations carried out in the previous decade, allowed to fill the approximations of calculation and the usually accepted technological gaps, and it was a necessary condition to fill the insufficiency on the state of the art, as well as has laid the foundations for the creation of a new tool dedicated to agriculture.
The company is established after having participated and won in the competition of entrepreneurial ideas StartCup 2005 organized by the University of Palermo and having received favorable consents also during the final phases of the PNI competition (National Award for Innovation, Padua 2005). The company is immediately dedicated to the implementation of tools and services applied to hydraulics and agriculture, in particular to irrigation. In 2007 he took part in the Expobit (``Environment and Technology`` thematic area) of Catania, in 2008 at the Udine Innovation. From 22 to 25 June 2008 Irriworks Srl and the Faculty of Agriculture, in a joint work, participate in the International Conference on Agriculture Engineering and Industry Exhibition held in Hersonissos, Crete.
During the conference, the work entitled “IrriPro: A powerful software to graphic and hydraulic design of irrigation plants” was presented, performed by Irriworks in collaboration with the ITAF Department of the University of Palermo, in which the software was presented IrriPro, as well as the results of the first checks carried out in the field. The work received the recognition of merit from the Organizing Committee (in a shortlist of the three best memoirs) for ``excellence in design and innovation in agricultural engineering``.
In 2010, after a long process of engineering and development, IrriPro is presented in the project software market for irrigation systems, a powerful calculation and design program based on an innovative algorithm that allows the design, management and analysis of irrigation networks.
The first design activities involved the company, through a collaboration with the Agrarian faculty of Palermo, in consulting for the design of irrigation systems for the Maison Shalom company of Nyamutobo in Ruyigi in Burundi, in field surveys for the validation of models plumbing and testing of new topographic survey tools.
On 7 August 2010, Irriworks takes part in the ``Italia degli Innovatori`` exhibition at the Shanghai Expo, the state of the art of technological and innovation capacity in Italy.
Irriworks was among the 60 companies that participated in the event. On this occasion Irriworks received the recognition of ``Expo Shanghai 2010 selected innovator`` by the Ministry of Public Administration and Innovation. The IrriPro product proposed by Irriworks was selected by the technical committee of ``Italia degli Innovatori`` which selected 265 projects.
Since then Irriworks has always improved and enriched IrriPro with new features and analysis tools, making it increasingly versatile and close to the needs and requirements of technicians and professionals in the sector. On the occasion of the EIMA INTERNATIONAL 2018 fair, the most powerful version of IrriPro ever presented in its version 4 was presented.
